Key Project Details

"Life in Art” Youth Exchange took place from 27 August to 06 September 2025 in Statiunea Climaterica Sambata, Brasov, Romania. The mobility brought together 40 participants, supported by group leaders and facilitators from Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Portugal.

The project was coordinated by Asociatia Cloud Five (Romania) in partnership with:

-  Kalandoor (Hungary)

-  Informal Group Trailblazers (Slovakia)

-  VšĮ uMunthu (Lithuania)

-  Núcleo de Inclusão (Portugal)

Objectives and Activities

The main goal of Life in Art was to improve the level of confidence and creativity among 40 young people aged 18-25 from Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Portugal and Lithuania in expressing personal ideas and emotions through visual and auditory art forms, helping them develop a unique artistic voice through non-formal activities.

Our project had three specific objectives:

·  Objective 1: Promote teamwork among the 40 youngsters by working together on activities, enhancing their ability to communicate ideas, share feedback, and combine different art forms.

·  Objective 2: Develop the technical skills and digital literacy of participants by practising videography, photography, sound art and digital painting, which require camera handling, sound editing and post-production techniques, using digital tools.

·  Objective 3: Develop the competences of participating organisations in implementing art related activities using digital elements for youngsters from their communities.

Over the course of 9 days, the participating youngsters engaged in a program structured around non-formal education and experiential learning, the activities contributing to the development of their creativity and expression. The youth exchange was divided into three main phases:

Phase 1 (Days 1-2): The first days were designed for the group to become familiar with the schedule, programme, objectives and to get to know each other. Participants co-created a Social Contract, explored the Erasmus+ programme and Youthpass through interactive group work, and participated in sessions around personal safety and well-being. These early activities helped establish a respectful, inclusive environment where everyone felt seen and heard.

Phase 2 (Days 3-8): The programme was designed so each day of this phase was about a different art form. Day 3 focused on painting and digital painting. The youngsters experienced the differences between drawing on paper and digital drawing and engaged in an activity in which they needed to involve AI into painting. On day 4 we went to Brasov, for the city-visit day. Because on the next day we had the photography activities, the group was introduced to the topic through a Street Photography activity in Brasov. On day 5, the theme was photography. Days 6 and 7 were focused on videography and sound art. On day 8, we had activities focused on improving creativity: creating GIFs using Canva, an activity on Soundscape Creation, we had a Creative Treasure Hunt to end the art-related activities with a summary of everything that was done. The day ended with a special activity in which everyone created a design in Canva for their project T-shirt and then they got the chance to print it live and wear it.

Phase 3 (Day 9): Last day focused on ending activities. We engaged in a DEOR session,  had the final evaluation, left goodbye messages to each other, spet some time together and completed the third part of our YouthPass certificates.

Why the Project Was Implemented

“Life in Art” project was developed as the continuation of “Life is Art” - another project created by us in 2024. A second part from it was the desire of the 40 young people who participated in the “Life is Art” mobility, in summer 2024. As they observed an improvement in the quality of their lives after their participation in the mobility, some of them starting new hobbies and most of them becoming more creative and happier with their daily lives overall, they proposed a second part of the project, through which they can experience more types of art.

We wanted through this project to promote art in all its forms and remind youngsters about the beauty of practicing it. Creativity, among other soft skills that can be developed through art are among the priorities at the EU’s level. Our project contributed to the top priorities of the EU related to art and developing creativity for youth - Creative Europe (2021-2027) and the New European Agenda for Culture, promoting the development of creativity through formal and non-formal education.

Being part of a society in which we use technology a lot, being incorporated in work life as well, we proposed that through this project, the participating youngsters would get the chance of practicing art forms closely linked to the digital world, learning how to use technology as a way of developing their creativity, rather than relying entirely on AI tools for their tasks.

Thus, we collaborated again with the same countries from the first project to provide 40 youngsters aged 18-25 from our communities with a context to experience other art forms (photography, videography, digital painting, sound art) as they wished for, linking it with the use of diverse digital tools as well.

  • Lucas, Romania: “This project helped me discover my true admiration for photography. During the project I had the opportunity to learn several types of art, but photography fascinated me the most of all, so much so that at the end of the project I made the decision to look for and purchase a camera, which helped me further develop my knowledge in this field.”

  • Ashfia, Hungary: “A 10 days project where I could improve my knowledge on photography, videography and sound art through several workshops.
