Cloud Five joins the 1Health Innovation Bootcamp 2026 as an Ecosystem Partner

This year, Asociația Cloud Five is proud to be an ecosystem partner of the 1Health Innovation Bootcamp 2026 – Future of Food and Crops, which runs from April to October 2026. We chose to get involved on a voluntary basis because we believe in what this initiative stands for and we wanted to help it reach as many young people as possible.

The bootcamp was initiated by BioMentorHub in partnership with PLAI. It supports young researchers and early-stage founders in the agrifood field as they turn validated research into real businesses, products and solutions. Participation is free and teams keep full ownership of their ideas and intellectual property. Above all, the programme aims to create meaningful opportunities for talented young researchers here in Romania, so they can build their future at home instead of feeling they have to leave the country to find one.

Our contribution: bringing people together

Before the programme itself began, the bootcamp team held a networking phase in Romania's main university cities: Timișoara, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, plus an online event for Iași.

Cloud Five helped shape this phase.

Bogdan Vîlcan, a member of Cloud Five, designed the agenda for the networking events. He created activities that combined a non-formal, relaxed atmosphere with a professional setting. This gave the BioMentorHub team space to present the bootcamp to the audience. It also helped participants get to know each other and form connections that could turn into future teams and collaborations.

The events were hosted by Alexandra-Ioana Popescu, Erasmus+ Ambassador in Romania and long-term collaborator of Cloud Five as a trainer and facilitator. Her experience in non-formal education and facilitation helped make each event engaging, open and welcoming for everyone who attended.

Why it matters to us

At Cloud Five, we work to support our community and create opportunities for young people. The 1Health Innovation Bootcamp shares that same spirit: it invests in young talent and helps build a stronger ecosystem for research and innovation in Romania. We're grateful to have been part of this journey. We look forward to seeing the participating teams present their work at the Grand Demo Day in Timișoara at the end of October.
