Dream Puzzle
"Dream Puzzle" was a non-formal education workshop organised by Asociația Cloud Five for young people from our local community, focused on personal dreams, goals and the people who help us reach them.
Objectives and Activities
The main goal of "Dream Puzzle" was to help young people reflect on their own dreams and build the confidence to pursue them, while learning to respect the different aspirations of those around them.
The activity had three specific objectives:
Objective 1: Strengthen the participants' self-confidence and their ability to reflect on their personal goals.
Objective 2: Develop their communication skills by encouraging them to share their ideas with their peers.
Objective 3: Promote empathy, inclusion and respect for the diversity of dreams within the group.
The workshop was built on non-formal education methods and structured in three parts:
Part 1 – Getting started: The session opened with an energiser based on dance and movement, which created a relaxed atmosphere and got everyone involved from the very first minutes.
Part 2 – Dreams and the people behind them: A guided discussion followed, about dreams, personal goals and the people who can support us in reaching them. We also talked about why it matters to encourage those whose goals are different from our own. In the practical part, each participant created their own puzzle piece, illustrating a dream and the steps they could take to turn it into reality. At the end, all the pieces came together into a single puzzle, a simple way of showing that each of us is different, but together we build a stronger community.
Part 3 – Reflection: The workshop ended with a reflection session, where participants were invited to present their puzzle pieces, if they wished, and to share their ideas with the group.
Why the Activity Was Implemented
What do you want to be when you grow up? Most young people hear this question many times, but are rarely given the time to really think about it, or about how to get there.
We wanted to give the young people in our community a space to put their dreams into words, and to show them that a dream becomes easier to reach when it is broken down into small steps and when the people around us support it.
Results and Impact
The participants were highly engaged and eager to express themselves. They took an active part in the discussions and showed genuine respect for each other's perspectives.
The activity contributed to the development of their personal, social and communication competences. It is in line with the Erasmus+ objectives of developing key competences, using non-formal education methods and creating an inclusive and participatory learning environment.
The activity also generated tangible outputs:
Individual puzzle pieces, each illustrating a participant's dream and the steps needed to achieve it
A collective puzzle bringing together the dreams of the whole group
